Abyss is a popular Roblox experience where deep-sea exploration and fishing become a thrilling survival journey. You will dive into the depths of the ocean, catch rare fish, and complete quests while managing oxygen and dodging underwater dangers. However, one of the first major obstacles beginners face in Abyss is limited storage space.

While exploring and catching fish, your inventory can fill up much faster than expected, forcing you to return early and interrupting your progress. Whether you are grinding quests or preparing for a long, deep-sea expedition, insufficient storage can slow you down significantly. So, to help you out, here’s a complete guide on how to increase storage in Abyss.

How to Increase Storage in Abyss

Upgrading your storage is essential if you want to fish for longer sessions. Moreover, the amount of fish you can carry determines how efficient and fast you are during your sessions.

If you are close to full storage, you become slower and can drown due to the lack of oxygen. You can always check your weight from the bottom left corner of the screen, marked with ‘Weight’. Below, we’ve mentioned ways to increase your storage in Abyss.

      Use Tubes

One of the easiest ways to expand your storage in Abyss is by upgrading your Tube. Tubes directly affect how much weight you can carry underwater, making them essential for longer dives. If you’re just starting, visit David’s stall and purchase the strongest Tube you can afford within your budget.

You can also preview each Tube’s storage stats by walking up to it and pressing the ‘E’ button, which helps you compare options before buying. While the Forgotten Deep offers solid beginner choices, stronger and more advanced Tubes can be discovered in other regions as you progress.

      Equip Artifacts

Another effective method to expand your fish storage is by using Artifacts that boost primary capacity. These special items can be obtained by cracking open Geodes at the Virelia NPC. After obtaining an Artifact, head into your inventory and switch to the Artifacts tab. From there, equip the one that increases the number of fish you can carry at once.

Some Artifacts provide higher bonuses than others, so upgrading and selecting the best available option will significantly improve your overall storage potential. Below, we’ve listed all the artifacts that increase the overall weight in Abyss.

      ArtifactRarityCarry Weight Increase
      Fish CrateUncommon+15kg → +33kg
      LanternUncommon+25kg → +46kg
      Fish BagRare+8kg → +20kg
      Eternal CrystalLegendary+30kg → +65kg
      Ruined LanternQuest Artifact+100kg (Fixed)
      Rubber DuckExotic+20kg (Flat)

      Equip Races

Your Race selection in Abyss can also impact how much fish weight you’re able to hold. If you want a better storage bonus, you can reroll your Race using Star Shards through the option located at the top of your screen.

Star Shards can be earned by completing in-game achievements or by redeeming active codes. Among the available Races, Monkey, Narwhal, Crab, and Kraken are some of the strongest choices for increasing fish weight. So, stick with a Race that provides the best storage advantage for your playstyle.

How to Add Portable Storage in Abyss

Alternatively, you can expand the total amount of fish you can store overall by upgrading your Portable Stash. So, to do this, head over to the teleportation zone and look for Billy NPC, who can be found leaning against a blue storage crate nearby. Next to him, you will spot your Portable Stash chest.

At first, this stash can store up to 8 fish, and the best part is that it’s completely personal, so others cannot steal from it. If you want more space, you can pay Billy to increase its capacity. Keep in mind that each upgrade becomes significantly more expensive than the last. Below are the upgrade tiers and their respective costs.

      • 8 → 16 slots – $1,250
      • 16 → 24 slots – $4,750
      • 24 → 32 slots – $15,000
      • 32 → 40 slots – $50,000

If you’re planning extended fishing sessions across multiple regions without constantly returning to sell, investing in Portable Stash upgrades is a smart move. Since you can access it from anywhere, it makes long exploration runs far more efficient and convenient.
