The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle is a popular RPG based on Wuxia with an intricate storyline and lots of stuff to explore. But it can be quite confusing to progress through the plot if you don’t know what to do.
Beginner’s Guide To The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle
So. to help you complete the story and make progress, we’ve compiled this in-depth walkthrough of Act 1 of The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle’s gameplay. This guide covers every location, key items, enemies, and more to ensure you have all the information to progress successfully.
Temple of Grand Tutor Yang
Your journey begins at the Temple of Grand Tutor Yang. This area is filled with items and also introduces you to combat and decision-making mechanics. So, to make sure you don’t miss out on anything, here are all the things you should know, including the loot spots:
- Right Corpse: 30 coins.
- Left Corpse: 33 coins.
- Left Barrel: 1 Steamed Pie.
- Well (SPD ≥30): Heavy Ancient Sword. (One of the Ten Great Weapons)
Key Locations and Items
Here are all the loot spots inside the Temple at that place:
- Behind the Statue: 404 coins.
- Left Barrels: 1 Cardamom Drink and 1 Honey Cake.
- Right Jars: 1 Dry Good Drink and 24 coins.
- Merit Box: Steal for 200 coins (first attempt) and 300 coins with -1 MOR (second attempt).
Main Events
- First Battle: Defeat the attacker inside the temple.
- Old Men’s Duel: Choose between two Kungfu techniques:
- Sword on a Platter
- Fist of the Spirit Fox
Your choice would influence the future Kungfu techniques that you can learn but have minimal immediate impact. Personally, Sword on a Platter would be a good choice if you have high INT stats while the latter is better for high STR stats. Apart from that, if you tap on the Incense Box, you’ll get five choices, so here are some of the good ones to choose from:
- The third choice grants a weapon with enhanced stats but a 10% INTOX chance.
- The fourth choice provides XP-boosting armor, sacrificing 1 INT.
- The fifth choice offers a late-game useful trait related to stealing.
The best choice arguably would be the second choice which gives you 2 extra Talent Points (TP) to use on your character. This is great, especially for your first playthrough.
Recruitment
You also have the choice to recruit one NPC from this spot. To recruit Goldie, the stray dog outside the temple, you need a Lamb Bun. Avoid the Aloof option when interacting with him.
Goldie is a beast character with high MOR stats, so you can keep him on your team for triggering specific MOR check events. You can find Lamb Buns to recruit him from Xiangyang City by completing Madam Feng’s Quiz.
Xiangyang Area
Once you complete exploring the Temple, you can exit the area to open the World Map. You can press M to access the World Map which allows you to Fast Travel. We’ve provided a complete map of all the POIs (Points of Interest) in the Xiangyang Area.
Collectibles
There are quite a few collectibles that you can collect on the area map. While these might not be as lucrative as what you might normally find, they can be good for early game progress.
- Flowers: 2 Soul Herb, 2 Staunching Herb.
- Behind the Port: Burglar Suit.
- Flower: 2 Staunching Herb.
- Rock: 123 coins.
Enemies
Here’s a list of all the enemies that you can find in the Xiangyang Area. These include both regular mobs as well as World Map bosses. We’ve also mentioned what items they carry in case you have the stealing skill.
