Grow A Garden’s latest update adds more than just quality-of-life improvements. It lets you personalize your plot with decorative cosmetics. But getting and placing these decorations isn’t as straightforward as simply buying them.
Cosmetics are tied to new mechanics involving crates and placement tools. If you’re trying to figure out how to collect and showcase your favorite items, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to fully customize your plot.
How To Get Cosmetics In Grow A Garden
To get cosmetics in Grow A Garden, you need to visit the Cosmetic Shop, located between the Gear Shop and Pet Eggs Shop. The shop is run by an NPC named Sam, who sells individual decorations and crates. Approach Sam and press E to open a window displaying the current rotation of cosmetic items.
New stock appears every 10 hours, so it’s worth checking back regularly. Basic cosmetics can be bought using Sheckles, but rarer and legendary items typically require Robux. If you’re aiming for exclusivity, cosmetic crates, especially the Exotic Crate, are your best bet for unlocking premium decorations.
Every Cosmetic Crate In Grow A Garden
Here are the seven different types of Cosmetic Crates currently available in the game:

How To Use Cosmetic Crates
Once you’ve purchased a crate, head to an empty area in your garden. Open your backpack, select the crate, and equip it. After it appears in your hands, place it on the ground in an empty spot. A 45-second timer will appear above it.
After the timer finishes counting down, press and hold E to open the crate and reveal its contents. You’ll automatically add the unlocked cosmetics to your inventory.
How To Place Cosmetics In Grow A Garden
To start decorating, click on the Tools icon at the top-left corner of your screen and select the Cosmetic Backpack. Alternatively, hold B to open it instantly. Once open, you’ll be able to see and select all the cosmetics you’ve collected.
Stand near an empty area in your plot and click on any item from the cosmetic inventory to place it there. After placement, keep the inventory open and left-click on the decoration to rotate, move, or store it. This gives you the freedom to fine-tune your layout and reposition items as needed.
