Once you find him, interact to untie him, and he’ll start walking to the elevator automatically. During this phase, you need to protect him from monsters that spawn, especially in the Black Fog levels. When he finally steps onto the elevator, you’ll receive a message marking the rescue complete, and you won’t need to save him again.
