Since its debut in May, Kuro Games has consistently released updates to keep the Wuthering Waves community engaged. The 1.1 update in late June introduced fan-favorite characters Jinhsi and Changli to the playable roster. The upcoming Version 1.2, set to release in just over a week, will add another pair of five-star characters, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. As Kuro Games prepares for the next patch, they have started to tease more future characters.
Kuro Games recently announced The Shorekeeper as the next five-star character arriving in Version 1.3. Described as a “mysterious divine being,” The Shorekeeper has been observing the title’s protagonist, Rover, throughout their journey. The announcement did not reveal specific gameplay details, such as her element or weapon. The Shorekeeper is expected to debut in the first half of Version 1.3, anticipated to launch on September 26.

The inclusion of The Shorekeeper will make her the third playable member of the Black Shores organization in the game, and perhaps the most significant. As the leader of the mysterious group, her presence has been alluded to by characters like Aalto from Version 1.0. Encore, a standard five-star character, also belongs to the Black Shores, serving as a consultant alongside Aalto. The Shorekeeper has yet to appear officially in Wuthering Waves.
In addition to building anticipation for the 1.3 update, Kuro Games has more exciting developments in store for Wuthering Waves. The developers plan to introduce a storage system for Waveplates, making it easier for players to manage in-game energy.
Additionally, a PS5 version of the game has been eagerly awaited, with a playable demo recently showcased at a Chinese gaming convention. These new features and updates promise to keep the Wuthering Waves community buzzing with excitement for the foreseeable future.
