What Is Foundation Realm In Tale of Immortal
The Foundation Realm is your first breakthrough in Tale of Immortal after the Qi-Refining Realm. To make a successful breakthrough, you’ll first need to cultivate the Late Stage of Qi-refining and reach a bottleneck.
Once you’re there, you’ll need to satisfy the requirements in order to attempt the breakthrough. Having sufficient expires can help you increase the breakthrough success rate. If you achieve success, you’re rewarded with a boost in Cultivation Speed and increased Lifespan.
Foundation Realm Breakthrough Requirements
Now that you know what the Foundation Realm is, you should also know what you need in order to make a breakthrough. To break through to the Foundation-Heaven realm, you will need:
- 3 out of 6 Heaven and Earth Treasure
- 6 Qi Orbs
These materials and Qi orbs come from a variety of sources, each with its own method of finding. You’ll have to be quite patient when collecting these items as most of their drop chances depend on luck.
How To Get Heaven and Earth Treasures
The breakthrough requires three materials from a pool of six Heaven and Earth Treasures, three of which are orange rarity, and three are purple rarity. While you can mix and match these materials, it’s generally advisable to aim for the orange materials for optimal long-term benefits.

Unlike the orange materials, purple materials drop randomly, making them more inconsistent to farm. The bosses in these zones also spawn randomly, so farming purple materials can take more time.
How To Get Qi Orbs
To complete your breakthrough, you’ll also need 6 Qi orbs. These are guaranteed drops from the six elemental zone bosses in Yong Ning, or you can combine Qi orb shards at the town workshop to craft them.

If you’re aiming for efficiency, it’s better to farm mobs in the elemental zones for Qi orb shards rather than waiting for the bosses to spawn, as their spawns are also random and can even take many years in-game.
Tips To Breakthrough Quickly
Now that you know everything about breaking through to the Foundation Realm in Tale of Immortal, here are some tips to help you make this process even quicker.
- Using Charms: If you want to speed up the process of finding boss locations, using a Psychic Charm is highly recommended. These charms reveal special locations over a large area, making it easier to locate bosses.
- Using Talismans: Additionally, if you want to force the spawn of all six elemental zone bosses, you can use a Sky Prayer Talisman. This talisman, crafted from the Fengshui Diagram, will guarantee the appearance of all bosses.
- Using Quests: Another trick involves taking the 5-star Qi Deviated Cultivator Quest from a sect and leaving it unfinished for a month. This quest will usually force all six elemental zone bosses to spawn near towns, which you can then easily defeat to obtain Qi orbs and purple materials.
- Qi Orb Rarity: When collecting Qi orbs, you don’t need to worry about their rarity. Higher rarity Qi orbs won’t provide better stats during your breakthrough. They only improve your chances of success. Even if your breakthrough attempt fails, as long as you survive the tribulation, you’ll be fine.
