First and foremost both of these titles are based on the motifs of revenge and martial arts. Both are also series with the Sect of the protagonist being destroyed by another sect and the protag’s eventual fight against them for revenge. While there are certain differences such as the former having reincarnation and the latter being in a stable timeline, if you liked the former, you’ll love this one too.

Sura, the only survivor, with tears of blood decided that he’ll take revenge on everyone and he will kill everyone and this started this tale of hate and revenge. 

Coming third, Legend of Asura carries the same motifs as Legend of the Northern Blade. With a deep emphasis on martial arts, this title is full of masterfully crafted fight scenes. And the differences just don’t end here as both heroes are after revenge. Intending to grow more and more stronger and take revenge for their extinguished clan, they’re both out for retribution. While there are minor differences, it is still one of the best titles to pick. 

2. Heavenly Inquisition Sword

Yeon Jeokha has every reason to hate his family. As the second of his father’s second wife, he was immensely bullied by his stepmother and half-siblings. But things only got worse when he was imprisoned after his father’s death. Somehow able to escape this captivity, he came to know about the various martial arts of this world. Ten years have gone by since then and as the sole practitioner of an art long forgotten, Yeon is out for blood. 

Coming at number two, Heavenly Inquisition Sword with its revenge and martial arts theme has much in common with Legend of the Northern Blade. With both Mu-Won and Yeon on their way to exact revenge, the dark and gritty underlines of the story are wonderfully crafted. And while one wants revenge for his personal reasons the other seeks it to salvage his sect’s honour. But overall both stories are really great for those who like martial arts.

Chung Myung was among the three Heavenly Swordsmen and the greatest disciple of the Mount Hua Sect. But when the threat of the Heavenly Demon came, he sacrificed his life to protect the world. But instead of it being the end, Chung finds himself reincarnated in the future. But things have changed a lot and the Mount Hua Sect is in trouble. With the martial skills of a master and his knowledge, Chung takes it upon himself to restore Mount Hua’s honor. 

Coming at number one, if you liked Legend of the Northern Blade you’re definitely going to love Return of the Mount Hua Sect. With so much emphasis on the martial arts aspect of it, it’s no wonder that this series is popular. But this isn’t the only similarity between the two. Both of them deal with reincarnation albeit in different manners. But unlike Northern Blade, Chung is more focused on restoring his Sect rather than revenge. But the central theme is restoration is really nice and you should give this title a try.
