Astro’s latest Bot-filled adventure, Astro Bot, made its way onto the PlayStation 5 and has received critical acclaim worldwide. Astro Bot features multiple worlds, unique platforming levels, innovative Dualsense functionalities, and over 200 Bots to rescue. The first world that you encounter is the Gorilla Nebula.
Once you’re done with the last level of Gorilla Nebula, you’ll have to fight a boss in a special level inspired by King Kong to complete the world. The Mighty Chewy Boss Stage requires you to collect 20 Bots before you can unlock it. So, here’s all you need to know on how to beat Mighty Chewy in Astro Bot.
How to Beat Mighty Chewy In Astro Bot
The boss fight starts with a chase between Astro and Mighty Chewy. During this phase, Mighty Chewy will hurl pieces of metal at you that you can use as a ramp to move on to the next platform. There will be enemies waiting for you so it’s up to you to eliminate them or avoid them.
Before you get to the chase scene, you’ll have to do a bit of platforming, eliminating enemies and acquiring your companion for this stage, Robot Dog.NOTE
Mighty Chewy: Boss Phase One
After the chase, you’ll come to a larger platform with Mighty Chewy staring down at you. This will initiate the boss fight. One of the first things that Mighty Chewy will hit you with are enemies and buildings.
It’s worth noting that you’ll have two robotic hearts behind your back during this fight, meaning you’ll have two tries before you die so steer clear of any and all incoming damage.
When Mighty Chewy starts spitting out enemies, eliminate them by punching them. In the meantime, Chewy will sweep the platform with a large wreckage of a building. Boost through the breakable glass walls (by holding down R2) with the help of Rocket Dog.
Next, Chewy will make use of a Bell Bot to stomp the platform and send out damaging shockwaves. Jump over the waves to avoid all damage and boost into the Bell Bot to stun Chewy. When he’s down, keep attacking his eyeballs until the second phase starts.
Mighty Chewy: Boss Phase Two
The second phase will start with Chewy throwing another neon billboard at you. Boost through the breakable small glass window to the other side of the platform.
Once again, Chewy will bust out the Bell Bot and start stomping the platform, sending out shockwaves. Repeat the process and boost into the Bell Bot to stun Chewy and get him down. Then, damage his second eyeball until he gets all riled up.
Mighty Chewy: Boss Phase Three
Phase three of this boss fight begins when Chewy breaks the platform into two halves. Your goal will be to stay on the two halves of the platforms until he puts it back together.
Now that you’ve done enough damage to Chewy, he’ll resort to biting the platform out of primal rage, sending more shockwaves. Jump over them and boost or punch out his teeth until Chewy gets knocked out.
Boost into the golden bulldog icon inside Chewy’s mouth to end the boss fight. You’ll be able to rescue a special Bot after this fight who will be trapped inside the bananas that Chewy leaves behind. Punch the bananas to rescue Spike Bot, from Ape Escape.
