How To Get Mimic Octopus In Grow A Garden
You can only obtain the Mimic Octopus by hatching a Paradise Egg. It is a limited-time, ultra-rare egg with just a 7% chance to appear in the Summer Egg Shop. After you get the egg, the Mimic Octopus has a 1% hatch chance, making it one of the hardest Legendary pets to get in Grow A Garden.
You can acquire the Paradise Egg in two ways:
- Buy it for 50,000,000 Sheckles from the Pet Egg Shop
- Buy it for 139 Robux as a paid shortcut
After placing the Paradise Egg in your garden, it takes 6 hours and 40 minutes to hatch, unless you use time-reducing pets like Chickens or Kiwis. If you’re lucky enough, you will hatch the Mimic Octopus, but you need to be prepared for a grind.
How To Use Mimic Octopus In Grow A Garden
Once hatched, you can place the Mimic Octopus in your garden just like any other pet. However, it doesn’t have a fixed role, its ability changes every cycle. This is because it can copy the ability of your nearby pet and use it for itself.
What Does Mimic Octopus Do In Grow A Garden
Mimic Octopus has the ability of Mimicry. Every 15 to 20 minutes, the Mimic Octopus copies the passive ability of another pet in your garden and activates it. This makes it one of the most versatile pets in the game, capable of filling gaps in your setup depending on what other pets you’ve placed nearby.
For example:
- If you have a Raccoon, the Mimic Octopus can duplicate a crop from another player.
- If you have a Dragonfly, it could trigger a Gold Mutation on a nearby crop.
- If you have a Queen Bee, it can pollinate a fruit or refresh another pet’s ability cooldown.
Your strategy should be to pair the Mimic Octopus with powerful pets. It doesn’t matter which one it mimics, you win either way.
