Grow A Garden is a popular Roblox experience where you can grow plants, raise pets, and use powerful mutations to increase crop value. Recently, the July 2025 Prehistoric Update went live, which added the new Amber mutation.
The Amber Mutation is one of the most unique mutations in Grow A Garden. Not only is it a valuable mutation, but it also evolves into OldAmber and AncientAmber mutations. So, here is a complete guide to walk you through how to get the Amber Mutation and how you can evolve it into the higher-tier mutations.
How To Get Amber Mutation In Grow A Garden

There are two main ways through which you can get the Amber Mutation. You can use the new Amber Mutation Spray gear, or you can also use the new Raptor pet. You will need to craft the spray, and you will need to hatch the pet from Dinosaur Eggs.
Using Amber Mutation Spray
To get the Amber Mutation Spray, you will need to craft it by going to the crafting bench next to the Blaire NPC. You can craft this Mutation Spray by giving 1 Dinosaur Egg, 1 Cleaning Spray, and 1,000,000 Sheckles.
You will have to get the Dinosaur Egg at the DNA Converter beside the Dinosaur stall run by the NPC Graham. After you give these items, you need to wait for an hour for the crafting process to finish. After you craft it, hold the spray and simply click on a crop to apply the Amber Mutation to it.
Using Raptor Pet
To get the Raptor, you need to trade any non-dinosaur pet to Graham at the Dinosaur Egg Stand or complete a full set of Dino Quests from Blaire. Both options will give you a Dinosaur Egg, which takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch.
The Raptor has a 35 percent chance of hatching from the egg. After you manage the get the Raptor, it has a 2.24% chance to apply the Amber Mutation when you harvest fruits. However, rarer crops have a lower chance of getting this mutation applied by Raptor.
How To Get OldAmber Mutation

To get the OldAmber Mutation, you need to leave a crop untouched after applying the Amber Mutation. After 24 real-time hours, the crop will have a dark orange glow and automatically get the OldAmber Mutation.
After your crop gets the OldAmber Mutation, you can’t revert it back to regular Amber. The OldAmber mutation has an improved multiplier, as it boosts your crop’s value by 20x.
How To Get AncientAmber Mutation
To get the AncientAmber mutation, you need an OldAmber-mutated crop, and then, you have to let it sit untouched for 3 days (72 hours). The transformation is automatic, and after the AncientAmber mutation is applied to your crops, it gives a massive x50 multiplier to those.
Remember that you cannot downgrade or revert the mutation after it gets the AncientAmber mutation. This is one of the highest multipliers that you can get without stacking other mutations, so you should apply it to high-value crops like Traveler’s Fruit.
What Is The Amber Mutation in Grow A Garden
Mutation Type | Multiplier | How to Get | Visual Description |
---|---|---|---|
Amber | x10 | Spray or Raptor pet | Orange mist with swirling amber particles |
OldAmber | x20 | Leave Amber crop untouched for 24h | Darker orange hue, more intense aura |
AncientAmber | x50 | Leave OldAmber crop untouched for 3 days | Amber shell with glowing lines and swirling orange energy |
Amber Mutation Buffs And Effects
The Amber Mutation in Grow A Garden is the first mutation that has multiple stages. Your crops with the Amber Mutation receive a x10 multiplier to their selling value, which significantly boosts your profits. This mutation also serves as a foundation for other higher-tier mutations as well.
If you leave a crop with the Amber mutation untouched, the crop evolves into the OldAmber Mutation after 24 hours, which in turn can become the AncientAmber Mutation after 3 days. These advanced mutations have massive multipliers over the regular Amber mutation, so you should try to get them if possible.

Best Mutations In Grow A Garden
When it comes to permanent mutations in Grow A Garden, the most valuable one by far is the Celestial Mutation, which provides an extraordinary x120 multiplier to your fruits. However, unlocking it is entirely dependent on encountering a Meteor Shower, which can only take place once Nightfall begins each hour.
Following Celestial in value are the Shocked and Rainbow Mutations, both offering significant boosts to your crop’s value. The Rainbow Mutation is exceptionally rare but doesn’t require any particular weather event, it can happen entirely at random.
Meanwhile, the Shocked Mutation becomes available during Thunderstorms. To increase your chances of obtaining it, you can place a Lightning Rod near your crops, which attracts lightning bolts that have the potential to trigger the mutation.
