How to Mine in The Forge

Mining in The Forge is very straightforward. To mine ores, you need to use your Pickaxe and hit one of the rocks or pebbles inside The Cave. The rocks you mine each have a set amount of HP.

When you break them, they drop ores with a random chance and quantity. RNG determines the type of ores you receive, and having higher Luck increases your chances of getting rare materials.

You will not be able to mine few rocks, due to your pickaxe’s mine power. You need more mine power to break this rocks, so buy a better pickaxe.

      All Pickaxes

You can purchase new pickaxes from Miner Fred’s stall located in the main lobby of Stonewake’s Cross. Every pickaxe comes with unique stats, offering better Mine Power, increased Luck Boost, and sometimes additional Rune Slots.

Upgrading to stronger pickaxes is the way to go as it allows you to mine faster, gather better ores, and progress through the game more efficiently. Below, we’ve listed all the Pickaxes currently available in Stonewake’s Cross.

How to Forge Equipment in The Forge

Forging is the core progression system in The Forge. It allows you to transform collected ores into powerful weapons and armor, giving you the stats needed to survive tougher enemies.

To begin forging, head over to the forge (anvil icon) and interact with it. The rarity and type of ores you choose influence the item’s stats, weight, and overall quality, meaning stronger ores create stronger gear. Below, we’ve mentioned all the steps that you’ll need to follow to forge equipment in The Forge.

      1. First, walk up to the big smelter and interact with it by pressing the E button.
      2. Then, choose whether you want to craft a Weapon or Armor using the option in the bottom-right corner.
      3. After that, click on the ores from your inventory to place them into the material slots. You can add up to 4 ores per craft. However, it is not compulsory to fill all the material slots if you can craft the desired equipment with fewer ores.
      4. In the first minigame, you need to hold and drag your mouse up and down to melt the ores properly. Maintain the heat in the correct zone for best results.
      5. Then, in the second minigame, hold and release the mouse so the pointer remains inside the highlighted zone while pouring molten materials.
      6. In the third minigame, click repeatedly on the fiery mold on the anvil to break it open and uncover your item.
      7. Here comes the challenging part, as you’ll need to click the shrinking circles at the exact moment they align. The Better the timing, the higher the item quality (up to 100%).
      8. Once you’ve completed all the steps, let the animation finish to cool down the item and finalize your marvelous craft.

      All Gears & Weapons

There are a total of 3 armour categories in The Forge, namely helmet, chestplate, and leggings. Moreover, there are nine weapon types, each offering a unique combat style. Below, we’ve listed all the weapons in The Forge.

How to Upgrade Equipment in The Forge

      • Enhancing Area in The Forge

      • Runemaker Area in The Forge
        Screenshot by Game Geek Fusion

Another important mechanic in The Forge is upgrading your equipment. This allows you to enhance your equipment, making it better and stronger than it ever was. There are two different ways to upgrade your equipment in The Forge.

      By Enhancing

Enhancing is an essential upgrade process that allows you to use Essences. You get essences by killing zombies. Moreover, enhancing increases the stats and overall power of your weapons and armor, making them much more effective in combat, especially as enemies grow stronger in later areas.

Additionally, enhancing is a necessary step before you attach a rune to your equipment. Enhance your item at least once to unlock its rune slots and start customizing it further.

The difficult the zombie, the higher the essence drop value.

      By Runes

Every forged item can contain one or more rune slots, which can be filled at the Runemaker NPC. Runes give your gear special passive abilities, such as Poison damage, Burn damage, Lifesteal effects, Stat boosts, and other elemental or combat perks

Runes can be obtained as enemy drops, and one of their best features is flexibility, as you can remove runes from old gear and re-use them in stronger equipment later, ensuring you never waste a good rune.

How to Get Buffs in The Forge

Achievements in The Forge serve as an important progression feature, granting unique passive buffs to your character once specific milestones are completed. You can view and track all of your progress by opening the Achievements tab found inside your inventory menu.

After unlocking an achievement, select ‘Equip Skill’ to activate its bonus. Each achievement has multiple levels, and increasing its level will enhance the strength of the buff it provides. However, keep in mind that only one achievement boost can be equipped at a time, so choose wisely.
