The Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC brings three new standalone stories, featuring characters from the Remedy universe in Twilight Zone-esque episodes. The third episode, titled Time Breaker, follows the story of actor Shawn Ashmore, reprising his role as Sheriff Tim Breaker in Alan Wake 2, in a multiversal video game being developed by Remedy Entertainment’s creative director, Sam Lake.

Sheriff Breaker, who takes on the role of ‘The Actor’ is tasked with tracking and chasing down The Master of Many Worlds, a multiversal being who is killing the variants or the different versions of The Actor across universes. Here’s a complete guide on how to complete the final episode of the Night Springs DLC.

Talk To Sam Lake, The Director

Sheriff Tim Breaker having a conversation with Sam Lake, the creative director of Remedy Entertainment.

After the first cutscene ends, have a chat with the director. Select all the dialogue prompts until he tells you to visit the Green Room. Head left towards the doorway where you’ll notice the Poison Pill Entertainment logo on the wall, turn right from there and head straight down the hallway toward the flashing lights.

Once you enter the Green Room, you’ll find a dead body. Examine the body to obtain the Time Breaker Solidifier. After that, The Agent, also known as Jesse Faden from Control, will make a sudden appearance and warn you about an impending danger. Before she can explain what’s happening, you’ll be transported to a different location.

    Investigate The Forest Area

Sheriff Tim Breaker in a dark forest approaching a glowing Energy Node in the distance.

You’ll be transported to a new area, which is the dark forest. Follow the path ahead while Shawn questions the absurdity of the situation and reassures himself. You’ll eventually come across a note on the fence and a trailer.

Go inside the trailer to find a TV, which requires an Energy Node to work. Leave the trailer and head down the path to progress. The Energy Node will be hidden at a creek inside the forest. Keep following the path to find the creek, then head right.

Loot the box on the tree and keep going to come across the glowing Energy Node, which will be located to the left. It’s hard to miss it since the Node glows brightly. Approach the Node to claim it and return back to the trailer to power the TV.

Sheriff Tim Breaker shining his flashlight at a dead body in the dark forest on his way back to the trailer.

Along the way back, you’ll find another dead body and face an enemy obstructing the path. In true Alan Wake fashion, shine your flashlight at the enemy and shoot. Keep making your way back to the trailer, activate the TV with the Energy Node, and interact with it to go to the next scene.

    Explore The Oceanview Hotel

Three clocks showing three different times with three allocated locations: 12 o’clock for Entertainment Lobby, 3 o’clock for Tango Lobby and 9 o’clock for Coffee Lobby.

As you move on to the next scene, you’ll find yourself inside a black-and-white version of the Oceanview Hotel from the base game’s Initiation Five. Head through the door, deal with the enemy, look around for supplies then head to the end of the hallway.

Here you’ll find three clocks, indicating three doors. The 12 o’clock door leads to the Entertainment Lobby, the 3 o’clock door leads to the Tango Lobby and the 9 o’clock door leads to the Coffee Lobby.

Sheriff Tim Breaker inside the Oceanview Hotel, approaching another glowing Energy Node down a hallway.

Inside the Entertainment Lobby will be a TV that requires an Energy Node to work. To find the Energy Node, here’s the order that you need to follow:

    1. First, go through the 12 o’clock door.
    2. Then the 3 o’clock door.
    3. Finally, go through the 9 o’clock door to find the Energy Node.

Once you’re done with this, you should be prepared to fight some enemies while you look for the Node. Once obtained, head back to the Entertainment Lobby and use the TV to move on to the next scene.

    The 2D Retro Wave Fight

Sheriff Tim Breaker fighting off enemies with his flashlight and a pistol in a 2D retro side scroller-esque scene.

After a cutscene that resembles comic book panels, you’ll be transported to a 2D-style area where you need to fight off five waves of enemies to proceed to the next scene. A TV will be present to the right of the stage that requires an Energy Node. This scene feels like playing on an 8-bit system like the NES.

All you need to do is move left and right, shine your flashlight at the enemies to break their shields, and shoot them to get to the next wave. Once you’re done with all five waves, claim the Energy Node and activate the TV on the right to proceed to the next scene.

    The Final Confrontation

Sheriff Tim Breaker in a barren wasteland filled with powerless Energy Nodes, approaching another glowing Energy Node.

The final scene takes place in a wasteland filled with powerless Energy Nodes and enemies that you need to deal with. Approach the glowing Energy Node in the distance while dealing with enemies. Claim the Energy Node, then head past it to find a TV, that can be activated with the Node.

The final scene is a text-based scene where you need to choose the correct responses to the text prompts to proceed. Here’s what you need to choose to get the correct ending:

    • First, pick “Focus” out of the two prompts, with “Hold yourself together” as the next prompt.
    • Next, select the prompts that are offered to you since they’re all individual prompts.
    • Then, choose “Imagine a cup of coffee” followed by “Focus on the Master of Many Worlds”.
    • Next, choose “Meditate to learn”, then “Force yourself to continue” followed by “Channel your mind”.
    • Go through the individual prompts once again and choose “Take the seed” then “Plant the seed”.
    • After that, choose “Hang yourself from the tree” followed by “Pick up the fruit”.
    • Finally, choose “Use the branch with the door” to trigger a cutscene.

The cutscene marks the end of the final Night Springs episode, Time Breaker, from Alan Wake 2. However, more DLCs for the game are on the way like the Lake House DLC.
