Fortnite took the battle royale players by storm by adding an open-world Lego mode last year, along with Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival as two new modes for the game. It’s a completely different Fortnite adventure where you can craft materials, fight off enemies, farm resources, and encounter different biomes.

However, traversing the map on foot from biome to biome can be tedious since the map is nearly 20 times larger than the Fortnite Battle Royale map. Sprinting isn’t a viable option either, since it costs Stamina. Hence, let’s look at whether fast travel is available and its alternatives in Lego Fortnite.

Can You Fast Travel In Lego Fortnite

There is currently no way to fast-travel in Lego Fortnite. This doesn’t mean a fast-travel option won’t be added in a future update. Fortnite’s developers are still very much active and the game receives updates frequently. Therefore, a fast travel option can be added later on.

Even though a fast-travel option isn’t available, you can traverse the map quickly by building various types of makeshift vehicles.

How To Fast Travel Using Vehicles

Even though the option to directly Fast Travel isn’t available, the closest alternative is to travel quickly using vehicles. The vehicles that you can craft in Lego Fortnite allow you to travel fast like the Glider, Hot Air Ballon, and the Speeder.

Glider

The go-to traversal option for players in Fortnite has always been the Glider, whether it’s moving from point A to point B or landing safely. In Lego Fortnite, you can build the Glider to move around the map quickly.

You need 8 Flexwood Rods, 4 Wool Fabric, and 6 Silk Fabric to craft it. Here are the steps required:

1. First, gather Silk from Spiders found in the Grasslands.

2. Gather Wool from Sheep found in either Grasslands or Frostlands.

3. Obtain Flexwood from Cacti found in the Desert.

4. Place the Flexwood in the Lumber Mill Station to make Flexwood Rods.

5. Then, craft a Loom which requires 9 Flexwood, 8 Flexwood Rods, and 6 Sand Claws.

6. Place the Silk and Wool in the Loom to get Silk Thread and Wool Thread. Repeat the process to obtain Silk Fabric and Wool Fabric.

7. In the Crafting Bench, select theTools’ tab and craft the ‘Glider’. Make sure the Crafting Bench is upgraded.

8. Finally, equip the Glider from your Inventory.

It’s worth noting that using the Glider costs Stamina and you need to be at a vantage point to use it. NOTE

Hot Air Balloon

The Hot Air Balloon in Lego Fortnite is one of the best ways to traverse the map without using Stamina. It helps you cover large distances instantaneously. The only drawback to it is that you cannot maneuver the Hot Air Balloon left or right. Here’s what you need to do to build it:

1. Craft a Dynamic Foundation platform from the Build menu, which costs 4 pieces of Flexwood.

2. Craft a Large Balloon which costs 2 Silk Fabric, 1 Torch, and 1 Cord.

3. Craft an Activation Switch, which costs 1 Wood and a Blast Powder, obtained from fighting Skeleton Pirates.

4. On the platform, place two Large Thrusters which costs 3 Wooden Rod, 2 Blast Powder, and 1 Torch.

5. Now, to assemble everything. Place the Large Balloon on the center of the Dynamic Foundation, and interact with the Activation Switch to ride the Hot Air Balloon.

Speeder

As the name suggests, Speeders can be used to move around quickly around the world of Lego Fortnite. To unlock the recipe for a Speeder, players need to craft a Power Cell. Here’s what you need to do:

1. To craft a Power Cell, you need a Compost Bin, which costs 5 Plank, 2 Soil, 1 Sand, and 3 Fertilizer.

2. Once you’re done crafting the Compost Bin, recycle all types of old resources in your Inventory to make Biomass.

3. At the Crafting Bench, mix the Biomass with Glass (which can crafted with the help of the Metal Smelter) to craft a Power Cell.

Now, onto the materials that are required to make a Speeder. Head to the ‘Build’ menu and craft the Speeder with the use of the following resources:

  • 18 Wooden Rods
  • 8 Wood
  • 8 Granite
  • 8 Cords
  • 2 Plank

That’s all you need to do to build a Speeder in Lego Fortnite. Fast travel would undoubtedly be quicker than all of the alternatives listed here but these are the next best thing.
